As an Apple fanboy and photographer, it was pretty cool to have had Another Escape's homepage, and two of my images feature during the yearly Apple keynote and on their website for a whole year. I can remember purchasing my first Macbook Pro in 2009 during the first year of my Photography degree at Brighton University. I was genuinely excited about finally transitioning from my then-old ratty desktop pc to a much more powerful and beautifully designed machine.

Fast forward twelve years, including nine years at the creative helm of Another Escape, I was stunned to find an email invitation from Apple to feature the Another Escape website as part of a demo for some of the new OS X features, where we would take pride of place on both the www.apple.com website and also demoed within their Keynote WWMC 2021.

As proud as I am to have had this opportunity, it was also a bittersweet experience since just six months before the email, we had sadly taken the tough decision to cease publishing Another Escape and close up our shop. The astonishing amount of traffic our site received had been so much as to crash our website's server temporarily. Despite highlighting our project to a broad audience, these first-time visitors would not have been able to purchase a physical magazine.

Although we closed down our online shop before giving Apple permission to feature our website, I re-arranged the homepage to shine some exposure to two projects I deeply admire, Trees for Life and Otter Surfboards - which we had previously featured both in print and online.
